A new coworking space is set to open in a prominent office building along Park Road.
CoCoTiv already has a few tenants working from the 1515 Mockingbird Lane office already, but a true opening is set for August 1.
CHARLOTTE — Pfeiffer University will host the grand opening of its new Charlotte campus, a 26,440-square-foot facility at 1515 Mockingbird Lane, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 20.
“Pfeiffer University has had a Charlotte presence for over 40 years, and our new campus will continue to serve the greater Charlotte area with state-of-the-art technology, modern classrooms, and flexible meeting and event spaces,” said Pfeiffer President Colleen Perry Keith. “We look forward to providing new opportunities that are affordable and flexible for those looking to take the next step in Charlotte and beyond.”

The company is renovating a legendary building on Mockingbird Lane that has long been known for its inspiring views of the Charlotte skyline. The re-imagined property is getting new interior vistas, enhanced exterior visibility, sustainable LEED upgrades, and a new name that showcases its distinctive location – 1515 Montford Park.
A dated office building near Park Road Shopping Center is getting a $25 million renovation and a new name.
Grubb Properties is rebranding the 10-story Park Seneca building at 1515 Mockingbird Lane as 1515 Montford Park, reflecting a brand and neighborhood name that a nonprofit is promoting in the areasurrounding Park Road Shopping Center. Charlotte-based Grubb acquired the 109,674-square-foot office building in 2015 for nearly $8.2 million.
Grubb Properties said Tuesday that it’s moving ahead with renovations at a well-known office building off Park Road that will soon be the new home of Pfeiffer University’s Charlotte campus.
The Park Seneca building on Mockingbird Lane will be called 1515 Montford Park, owner Grubb Properties said. The company is marketing the building to prospective tenants, with four floors in the 10-story building available soon and more next year. Pfeiffer, currently located next door, has leased 26,440 square feet of space at 1515 Montford Park, or three floors of the building.
Pfeiffer University said Wednesday that it’s relocating from its longtime Park Road location to a building across the street.
The university has been at 4701 Park Road since 1996. The school is selling its Park Road building to real estate developers, who plan to redevelop the 5-acre college parcel into a six-story building. Charlotte City Council recently approved a plan to build 360 apartments and 17,000 square feet of shops, restaurants and offices in a six-story building. The sale is expected to close in spring 2017.
